While Manchester City were being shocked by Norwich, and PSG had to leave it late (with a spectacular Neymar winner), the champions of Italy and Germany were both surprisingly held this weekend. They were two very different performances though.
Juventus mightily struggled against Fiorentina, who were unlucky to not get all three points. Fiorentina created chances all game and had a couple late opportunities to inflict a big early season defeat. With Inter looking strong over the first three weeks, it looks like Juventus might have a challenge on their hands this season.
Bayern, meanwhile had a solid performance against a good Leipzig side and the result looks much more like a blip. The German champions for each of the last 7 years look just as strong as ever but Dortmund and RB Leipzig both have had good starts. Leipzig’s perfect season was ended but they’re still top of the table after 4 weeks in Germany.
